VW Arteon Safety

Emergency Assist 2.0 is what we will have as one form of safety which makes use of systems that are currently available. Seeing how the Arteon sits on top of the VW line-up, being a "border line audi," did they do enough?

Safety tech is a big thing this time around for car makers and us.

The service, called "Emergency Assist 2.0," utilizes existing features that Volkswagen has been cramming into its newer vehicles. Here's how the existing tech will be utilized on the new Arteon:

  • Adaptive cruise control: Used in conjunction with Side assist to ensure that the vehicle remains free from collisions.
  • Lane assistance: Recognize lines on the road, ensure that the driver is not swerving and safely navigate to the side if necessary.
  • Park assistance: Used to help steer the car to keep the driver safe and/or park the car if no response from the driver after several cues.

I think they did more than enough and they've covered the essentials in the assists that people tend to need and use for convenience and safety. This is one product that at this point, I'm highly considering over an Audi because it's achieving Audi like traits at a much cheaper cost.

I'm in the same boat since I don't care for the Audi mark up and don't care to own something with an Audi badge. Instead the Arteon is the way I go. It helps that we have the Passat CC as reference. It's also why I like the Avalon, except this time around we're in for a much higher end product.
I actually didn't like the CC from before to be honest and I know they do look similar to each other, but it just didn't cut it for me. The Arteon refined itself in such a way that it became perfectly ideal for me.

Well thats interesting, why don't you like the CC? Typically I don't see that response from someone about one car that's similar in ways to the car they want. I'm actually here thanks to the CC, always liked it but then found out about the Arteon.
