The Volkswagon Arteon is already for sale in Germany.

The base Arteon starts from 39,675euros ($43,124)
The Arteon Elegance starts from 42,650euros ($46,358)
The Arteon R-Line starts from 43,325euros ($47,092)

There's actually a configurator up that you could utilize on the Germany website as well, link follows:

The R-Line does have a better looking grille and an extra $4,000 isn't too bad for what you're getting. But I'll have to see how much it really is after import and delivery fees.

All those fees won't amount to much, it's like 1% of the vehicles cost which is nothing when you break it down into your month-month payment.

When paying this much for a vehicle we should be more focused on how much better/worse it is than the next model in the same segment.
Delivery fees are definitely the least of your worries. Tiny values where there are much more important things at hand.

I'd really think about going the R-Line route though because for that price range, you really can't go wrong with everything you'll be getting with it. The style of the Arteon plus the tech, alcantara style seats and leather dash and what not... this is a bargain if you really look at it.

Very true.

Depending on what went on with engineering, R-Line might be the way we can really appreciate the Arteon. But not always do you need to aim so high. Often trims right below those high performance trims are enough. Only time will tell.
For sure. Ultimately it all comes down to your preferences and where your priorities lay. Best thing to really do is get in there and test it out for yourself. That and seeing them up close really makes a world of a difference compared to looking at photos online no matter how detailed they are.
