The Volkswagen Arteon will be available in Australia this November and the price starts at $65,490 before fees. That's actually very expensive for the Arteon and puts it on the same level as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

I wonder why it is so much more there? That is almost double projected US pricing!
Glad i'm not paying that much to own one of these and being a German car that's not known for reliability and dependability, it just doesn't help. Maybe because of this the used car maker it hot in Austrialia.
People may as well go for the Mercedes if it's that expensive. Elsewhere, you're just paying around £34,305 or 40,304 USD if you directly convert it. Same seems to apply for New Zealand, perhaps even worse at $74,990.

Very nice break down and it gets even worse if you just look at leasing a nice brand new Mercedes which in that case can get you a lot. You just have to be willing to swap cars every few years. That to me is worth the trade off of the best tech.
Too bad import fees are so high in those countries, large untapped market that won't be able to afford inflated luxury car prices.
If there's a major recession as they're suggesting then we might see some car makers pull out to cut their losses short
Considering that its probably not a good time to buy a car in that part of the world.

I did a price comparison back in Feb. 2019 comparing the Australian price to the UK price with the same level of equipment . The Aussie price was $66940 plus on road . The equivalent in the UK was $91691.

In the UK ,today, a 2.0TDI , they don't get the 2.0TSI any more , with similar levels of equipment as our current model is approx $96000 AUD.

I picked the 2.0TDI engine for comparison because it has the 4 motion and 7sp dsg.

Whether the car is worth $70k is debatable but price wise where doing ok compared to the rest of the world. If anything where in front.

Nowadays, it is better to trade cryptocurrencies than cars. Do you agree? I was skeptical some time ago, same as you may feel right now. But after I started to receive my first profits, my opinion has considerably changed. But the main warning is to be well trained before you invest real money. Read more about forex trading on the etoro site https://tradersunion.com/brokers/forex/view/etoro/ . It explains everything in details.
