Rear Suspension Noise

I have a 2020 Arteon 2.00 petrol. In general its a big comfortable car which is quick enough, quiet enough and well put together.
However, there is a low frequency thud as you go over even quite small bumps ( Northamptonshire roads are not good). This becomes more and more wearing the longer you drive on uneven surfaces. The noise is less noticeable if you slightly open the tailgate - it is also less intrusive if you have several passengers.
Local dealer has checked the car out and says its the nature of the beast. It makes me regret swapping my A4 which was so much smoother and quieter.
If I can't solve it the car has to go.

Most dealers give the same responses..."Sounds all right to me", "They all sound like that", "Who sold you that then"....

My 2.0 is as noisy as a gets on even the smallest of road bandings. I am beginning to think it is the Pirelli pZero's which are a run-flat '[email protected]' concept. I will certainly buy an alternative tyre when the times comes. Maybe run flats have stiff sidewalls which cause the noises. I have a fullsize spare and am not so keen on run-flats after picking up a screw and being refused a repair plug even though the screw was near centre of tread.

I had normal Pirelli's on as the car came with a spare wheel.
Eventually got stuck of it and sold it.
I'm avoiding lift back cars now.
