Hi all

Currently driving Tiguan due for replacement in September. Have ordered a 1.5 TSI DSG in Pyrite Silver with heated screen and area view. Really looking forward to it but a little concerned as there aren’t any on the roads and I’ve visited 4 VW dealers recently and not one of them had an Arteon on display. Hope I’ve made the right decision.

Welcome to the forum Geoff. Allocations of the Arteon have been quiet low depending on the market and there are some that have already chosen not to offer it entirely. Its still one of the best all around grand touring cars that you can currently buy and there haven't been any reports of serious issues with it from current owners.
I suggest you call up a VW corporate center and see what they have to say, after all they're the ones sending these out to dealers and giving the final say.
My wife and I had deceided to buy the last gen. Tiguan and went for a testdrive of the 2.0 tsi (180hp) version. The testdrive went well, but on our return to the dealer we saw an Arteon 2.0 tsi (280hp) R-line version democar.
After a testdrive in that as well, it was an easy choice for us.
We are now the very happy owners (for close to one year now) of a fully specked 2.0 tsi 280 hp R-line, and have no regrets what so ever of the choice we made. It's a great car with loads of comfort that drives very well. Pretty quick also, when in sports mode.
Thanks Arne that’s really encouraging. I have also chosen that colour.
I have just read on Facebook Arteon UK page that the factory will not start production again till April 2019. I'm hoping this won't affect my September delivery but who knows

I saw that too, hope it's not true...

But September delivery? Is that what you've been quoted?
No it's what I need as my current car lease finishes Sep. I was told today by my supplying dealer that my build date is 3rd May.

Wow you've got a build date already? For the 1.5? When did you order? I ordered about 2 weeks ago and mine is sat at stage 2 still. Surprised they can give a build date if the factory is closed until sometime in April.
I'm at the same stage as you. Stage 2. Dealer says week 21 3rd May after putting my order no in to the system. I'm still at status 10 so a long way to go yet. Vw app doesn't show my build date.
I think the dealer is probably bluffing and just basing that date on approximate lead times. How can the dealer see a build week if it’s still at stage 2 when build week confirmed is stage 3?

It’s these half-truths that don’t help anyone and give dealers bad reps.
I think VW is keeping the Arteon a secret . At least here in Australia .
I've had my car for just over 7 months and I've never seen another Arteon on the road . Only ever seen them in dealerships and that was just 3 cars . Never seen or heard an advertisement .
Nobody I've ever spoken to has known what an Arteon is .
I think it's great . I get to drive a fantastic car that's really unique .

Phil
