Good evening, just bought a new 2022 Arteon SE R-Line a few weeks ago. Its a nice car, but I have issues with the Entertainment center that I can't figure out. Any help would be appreciated. I primarily listen to playlists from my Iphone, use the wireless connection to connect to the Arteon.
1. When using Apple Carplay the system freezes sometimes. Just a few seconds, but I've figured out that it's actually based on location. Every time I drive by a certain intersection, or a specific business on the way to work my music stops for a few seconds. If I stop at the light then sometimes it even kicks me out of Carplay. This does not happen when using the Volkswagen player, but it does still happen if I'm using a cord to connect to Carplay instead of wireless. So pretty much a Carplay problem. Is this kind of interference normal or do I have a bad unit?
2. When using the Volkswagen entertainment system, once again using a wireless connection to Iphone, it refuses to remember what song my phone is on. Every time I start the car it picks the first playlist (AC/DC) and plays the first song (Thunderstruck). Great song, but if I was in the middle of a long playlist when I walked out to my car I didn't want to have to find it again when I start it up. It often will even jump back to this song in the middle of another playlist, as if it can't figure out how to go to the next song and so it just goes back to the first playlist, first song. Annoying as hell.
3. Lastly, I mainly like the Apple Carplay for the Google map option. But the system completely refuses to swap between the two. If I'm listening to music or whatever in the main system and decide to use the App button the entire thing just freaks out. It tries to connect to Apply Carplay but can never connect (either wireless or using a cord). My phone has all the permissions granted, but it keeps erroring out. When I give up and try and go back to music in the main system it then freaks out and says no phone is connected and refuses to connect because we're moving. Last time this happened I couldn't get Carplay to work for several days. Once again, is this normal? It seems like a pretty basic function that I've never seen any car have a problem with in the past.
Any help would be great, thank you.
