NA delay is because of Audi

Its already been reported several times that the US launch was pushed back a few months because of issues with certification through the WLTP. New arrival date is sometime this Spring and turns out its Audi to blame. Because its an Audi engine they are the ones who are responsible for getting the car approved. https://carbuzz.com/news/blame-audi-for-delaying-the-volkswagen-arteon

Not a good move when other options are on the table but lucky for VW there's not that many yet.
Kia for example has been scooping up some of my friends that were once interested in the Arteon.
They backed out due to the fact that everyone they know would get the Arteon.
At the end of the day they can shift the blame to whoever they want, but there are still losing out on customers who aren't willing to wait. I completely understand why they are taking a slower approach WLTP testing, because the last thing they need is more emission issues.
Being someone that's open to buying a Toyota, the new Avalon would be a great alternative. Although a bit higher in price but still within range of our budgets.
I expect that the engines offered for NA will be much more limited than what we originally saw for Europe. I hope that we don't see any significant detunes on the higher trim levels as a result of NA regulations and standards.

VW is already readying a Passat GTE PHEV so its a sign of greater things to come for the rest of the line up. I think next up should be the Arteon. Its in a segment that appeals to a lot of people and being a PHEV makes it that much more stronger.
