Motoring Gives The Arteon A 79

That's 79 points out of a possible 100 and where it lost the most points was in the "X-Factor" and "Price, Packaging & Practicality" categories: Volkswagen Arteon 2017 Review

I can understand why they felt the need to point out the Arteon's tyre noise because it's not something you expect with a car that's expected to cost around $37k.

Well, I don't think that price of $37k is something special for that tire noise issue. I've actually faced tire noise with even more expensive cars, however, after few days it disappeared. Overall, that's a nice mark for this vehicle, I agree with Motoring.com.
Tire noise might be something we can solve ourselves by getting a different tire if it bothers us that much. Not always do the put the best tires on and often cheaper tires have more rolling resistance and are heavier. But much like the Passat CC that was a typical daily driver, there's no need to change this aspect of it, just adjust and move on.
It's not really a big deal to me, always the option to change the tires and drive in Sport mode so the deeper, louder exhaust note will drown out the noise. :D Would have been nice if VW put more time and effort into the idle-stop system so it's faster to respond.

They probably know these flaws won't do much to its sales given the fact this is still a very attainable vehicle. Compared to what else you can get (Kia Stinger) it still stands out. Plus most people know this is a watered down Audi... who doesn't want to own an Audi? I couldn't find one person, unless it was Mercedes or BMW, but never anything less.
