Incorrect Speed Alerts

I thought this issue would go away after update to 19/2020 maps this week, but not so.

On the 5 mile stretch of un-restricted dual carriagway (A404 Handy Cross to Maidenhead) ) I consistantly get incorrect alert messages for speeding. The National limit applies (70 mph) and the alerts flash up and dissapear 4 times along this 5 miles of road.

The dash diaplay flashes up a 60mpg limit sign with red circle and says Dynamic Road Sign indicates I am doing excessive speed.
If ACC were engaged then the brakes go on and off in harmony with the errors and a loud pings sound. The passengers then panic and the cars behind have to slow and avoid the crazy Arteon driiver. I do not use ACC anymore, but the Alert message still worries passengers.

Any suggestions?

Any chance this is something that can be disabled through the cars settings? I know on BMW's I've had with this feature you could alter the pre-set speed or turn off the alert altogether. Could find it under 'Limit'
I have tried all the settings I could find. I also rurned off road sign recognition, which stopped mph icon on top row of dash, but did not stop the alerts.

Yes, I also tried turning the 0 to 15 mph over limit slider down to zero, but the message still comes up. I got a dash cam of it coming on and off, so will show it to Dealer when 1st service due next month.
I even once saw 40 mph pop up on another 70mph dual carriageway, but I have not had chance to catch-it-on-cam yet.
Have you noticed how it treats motorway slip roads as 60mph?

I have a feeling it is either the maps are not updated fully. for UK roads; I discovered VW have to pay for the updates and can specify which countries are included in their Euro bundles. Sad to mention TomTom, but they are much better with updating.
The other thought is that the UK spec Arteon, or my one, has an default speed limit of 60 somewhere in the non-user datafields. The User Manual also says it can be fooled by reading signs incorrectly and I wonder if it is confused if it pops up the 60 limit for safety.

As far as I was told a few months back, there have be no firmware updates for Arteon. I will ask again on next month's service.

How annoying. I had looked at the Premium model here in the US with this feature and decided if I got one, I'd disable this feature completely, especially if the reading gives autonomous control to the throttle:surprise:.

Maybe there is a way with VCDS you can kill the alerts - you'll just need to know the right coding to do it.:smile_big:
Its sucks that cars like the Arteon got to the point we want to disable certain features. In the future that might not be possible as systems get more locked down.
As I've posted against another thread this seems to be an issue with the latest sat nav data settings. I updated the sat nav software in my 2017 Arteon from the VW website but started to have the 60 problem you mention. When I went into sat nav settings it showed dual carriageway speed max as 60. Re-installing the data I originally had has set dual carriageways back to 70. See attached pic. I'm guessing your setting will show 60 against the car logo?
