Just booked time at a professional detailer to have the Arteon treated with Gtechniq Crystal Serum coating (+ alloys, windows, leather etc with different kind of treatments).

Will deliver the car next Saturday, and it will take a few days to get it done. Hopefully I will get some nice pics of the prosess and final result. Will share them here if of interest.

I have had the same done to my Jaguar F-type 3 years ago, and the coating is still there as good as right after it was applied.

Makes washing the car sooo much easier, and even bugs and insects can be wiped right off with some water and a single wipe with a sponge 馃檪

No swirlmarkes and great shine after 3 years are not a bad result either 馃槈

I'm definitely interested in seeing the results. I've been toying with the idea of a ceramic coat for a while, they always look impressive on product adverts but it would be great to see some real world results! :)

It got rid of the swirls too! So it both protects and somewhat fixes small blemishes from car washes. Could either be the Gtechniq Crystal Serum of your detailer is just that good.
You even put it on the brakes?

Wow, night and day difference on your F- type. I see why this is something that people do on their new cars. And what does it do for the leather interior? Prevent it from cracking? Does this process come with some sort of warranty or lifetime?

It is different products used on paint, brakes/calliper, leather, exaust tip etc. Not shure about warranty, but at least the ceramic paint protection lasts for many years (depending on wear - how you wash it, sun, salt, weather exposure etc). The leather treatment makes it softer, less prone to cracking, cleans of dirt etc. Should be done at least once a year for good protection/result. Can be done by yourself (easy). The Crystal Serum paint protection must be done by a professional, and also requires a full paint cleaning/polishing first, to remove any existing swirls and marks. The ceramic coating chemically bonds to the paint, and can not be removed without a wet sanding of the paint. You do need to know excacly what you are doing, and how - because you don't get a second chance. But that is also why it gives a lasting effect 馃槈

Delivered the car today, so now it's just to wait for the work to be finished. Hopefully I can pick it up on Wednesday or Thursday. Looking forward to see the result 馃槑

Wow that silver is looking pretty incredible. Almost has a chrome sheen to it. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. What level tints did you go with on the windows?

No extra tint. It is original from factory. Lighting might make it appear darker, but it is rather dark originally.

Here are some pics from picking up the car. Taken with my phone, so not the best quality. Will receive some better quality pics later. Very happy with the result. All "old" swirlmarks are gone, and it looks (better than) brand new 馃槑

Wow. I see what you're doing this on all of your new vehicles. That finish is fantastic and I'm sure it puts your mind at ease knowing its better protected. How long did it take from start to finish to have the whole vehicle done?

It will usually take 3 days for this kind of job, but we where not in a hurry (still have the old car), so we told him to use the time he needed. He had a couple of other jobs going, so that made it easier for him to mix several jobs during the same periode. Some of the coatings need time to harden, so he can be more effective overall with some flexibility - and it's more cost effective, so we got a good price.
We dropped the car off at a Saturday, and picked it up the next Saturday.

always glad to see new owners going this direction with paint because even before applying paint protection there's already imperfections to be worked out.
"new cars" aren't so new anymore, i've seen new ferrari's delivered with orange peel!
