Arteon VS BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe

Thew new Arteon's main rival could be the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. In terms of power the 300-hp 3.0-liter Bimmer edges out the Arteon's 276 horsepower 2.0-liter, but depending on the pricing those extra ponies may not be worth it.

And the Arteon is just plain good looking in comparison:

The 4-series Gran Coupe looks extremely boring compared to what the Arteon looks like. An insignificant difference in power like that really doesn't mean much to me anymore considering the tuning capabilities we have these days. I can easily see a tuner being able to bump that 276hp from the Arteon to hovering above and around the 300hp range. Any further modifications I think will be unnecessary as that's a nice round number to play with.
One important part to bring into this conversation is price.

Lets take historical starting prices into account.

2017 VW CC = $34,375
2017 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe = $42,150

Already some of you might see a problem with that, there's a big jump in price from one to the next giving a higher chance to a potential Arteon buyer further discouraged from buying a 4 series.
Most definitely. One thing that the Arteon doesn't have though is that "social status" emblem on the front and rear of it. A lot of people will spring and spend the extra dollars on the BMW because it's a more "prestige" brand that brings more character to your appearance.

As always. Lucky for German car makers like VW there's still a lot of value minded buyers that scoop up a lot of these which brings us back the positive CC sales numbers. VW has done their homework before but now refined it a bit more, the outcome here is obvious.
By all means, let other scoop up car with a premium badge, more discount for me when it comes to the VW Arteon. And with the still ongoing dieselgate nightmare, VW dealerships will probably be more willing to negotiate and I'm patient. With the $8 i save by not getting a BMW, I can get some very nice wheels, floor mats, etc for the Arteon.
Well that is one way to look at it. I doubt they'd be willing to negotiate so early so your going to have to give it some time to when sales die down and things even out again. At that point you'll have a bit more negotiating power.

What kind of wheels are you thinking about though?
