Aftermarket Paddle Shifters

Hello everyone. I’ve noticed that the paddle shifters on the Golf R can be removed and replaced with aftermarket ones. There are installation videos on YouTube that talk about simply removing the pin with needle nose pliers, which holds the shifters in place. But there doesn’t seem to be a pin, or any other mechanism, that allows for our Arteon paddle shifters to be removed. I do not want to go with the stick on solution so was wondering…. Does anyone have experience swapping out their paddle shifters?

Thanks,
Paul

The paddles on my car (2018) are held on with the pin just like the golf .

It looks like 2019+ things changed. No more pins… 😫
