As an embargo lifted on the U.S. model Arteon, a lot of information has come out. Great for spotting the differences between U.S. and European models.

Lots of information to go through in these linked PDF's

Some things that stand out comparing it to the Australian model are

a) 8 speed std auto not the 7speed DSG

b) Discover pro 9.2 screen not available but you get an extra 2 speakers with the Dynaudio 700w

c) Rear indicators are the standard type . They are red and not the dynamic amber type.

One feature you have on the list , that I would really like , is remote start . I'll definitely be checking into seeing if I can get it adapted to my 2018 model.

Coming from Lexus, I have seen some ridiculous changes from EU to US models.

The NX was one of them.
Front end on the U.S. version received an ugly front end for improved pedestrian impact. Fortunately that wasn't the case here. Arteon is relatively the same as it is elsewhere.
Here is silly (minor) difference and an annoying one at that that I found today.

In the trunk on the left and right side there are spaces that are used to create compartments for small things. In the EU model the left side has a cover, effectively making a separate closed compartment and on the right a plastic retainer thus making another open compartment. Very useful. These trunk compartments are actually shown in the US owners handbook, but are missing from the car and it doesn't look like they can be retrofitted either.

How silly is that? penny pinching and annoying on a premium priced vehicle.
VW does a lot of questionable stuff but fortunately its only minor stuff like this so far in the Arteon. It sure beats having issues that send you bad to the dealer!
I noticed the trunk storage difference also while I was looking for someplace to store my user manual. Makes me NUTS that it won’t fit in the glove compartment!
In the future that along with some others might be reasons for VW to launch a sportier SUV than the Atlas. Its nice but just practical.

I thought the Atlas Cross was enough but maybe i'm wrong.

Having seen a lot of Atlas' on the road since its initial launch might be justification for more versions and not just the cross.

It is practical and at the same time it has a lot of updates. One of my friends shared with me a site with convertible cars the models are amazing. They have made a lot of modifications, cars a hybrid now and also they changed the electronics part which is great. The gas consume is smaller because of the electronic part and I guess that this is a nice news for everyone. And this is just this year, we can only imagine about the convertible cars that they are preparing for the next years. So I find this change a very useful one.
